Job Overview:
The Children’s Director is directly responsible in leading the Children’s Ministry at Duncan First Baptist Church. The primary responsibilities include—managing the needs of the children’s ministry every Sunday, Wednesday, and special events. This position is active practically every week throughout the year other than the month of July, when we break on Wednesday Nights. This can be a demanding position as this person must balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
Therefore, we are seeking the person God has called to serve Him first and foremost. This will help establish strong and appropriate relationships with the children, their families, and volunteers, while maintaining a professional and positive image and attitude that would please the Lord Jesus.

Primary Responsibilities:

Oversee the Children’s Ministry at Duncan First Baptist Church. This includes working alongside all other staff members.

Develop and coordinate Sunday morning and Wednesday night programs to reach each child on their level for spiritual growth. (Sunday—Nursery to 5th Grade for Sunday School and Children’s Church—both large and small groups, during adult worship time. Wednesday night—TeamKid and Choir Rehearsal Care)

Evangelism—Share the love of Jesus with the children of our church and community through outreach events. (Trunk or Treat, Parent’s Night Out, Good News Club and more)

Coordinate the Children’s Ministry Council and all children’s workers. To enlist, train, provide resources, and encourage others to lead, serve, and teach our children while supporting their parents.

Along with the Church Administrator, develop and oversee the Children’s Ministry budget so it effectively and wisely utilizes church resources and maximizes ministry opportunities.

Maintain the Children’s page on the DFB website, Facebook, and the Children’s bulletin board on a consistent basis to keep these spaces from growing stagnant.

Help organize, plan, and recruit help for Vacation Bible School, Kid’s Summer Camp, Summer Day Trips, Back to School Bash, and various other events throughout the year.

Attend worship service at least once per month to meet and greet DFBC church members and new families.
Communication:

Participate in staff meetings to maintain excellent relationships and open communication with all staff, providing up-to-date information about the Children’s Ministry.

In conjunction with the Senior Pastor, the Children’s Council and the Children’s Director, set and cast the vision for Duncan First Baptist’s Children Ministries and follow through with strategies and goals for the vision.

Additional Preferences

Must have experience managing others in a variety of settings.

Must have a working knowledge of office equipment and software (copiers, computers, operating systems like Microsoft word, google docs, and excel, etc..) and social media experience with Facebook, Instagram, etc.

Salary Range: $20,000—$25,000 Depending on Experience.
